Definition and Usage
The <acronym> tag defines an acronym. An acronym must spell out another word. It is used to indicate a sequence of characters that is made up of the first letters of the words of a phrase such as 'WWW', 'HTML', NASA, ASAP, GUI etc . The HTML Acronym Element (<acronym>) allows authors to clearly indicate a sequence of characters that compose an acronym or abbreviation for a word. The <acronym> element and title attribute was used to associate a full-text explanation with an acronym.
