Definition and Usage

The <del> tag defines text that has been deleted from a document. The HTML <del> element represents a range of text that has been deleted from a document. This element is often (but need not be) rendered with strike-through text. he HTML del tag is used for markup of deleted text. del can be used to identify any removed content, from a specific word or phrase that’s been removed (in which case the del is deemed to be an inline element) to an entire block of content, which could include a number of nested block-level elements (in this case, the del is deemed to be a block-level element). Markup of deleted text can be useful in determining differences between multiple versions of the same document. Browsers will normally strike a line through deleted text and underline inserted text.
