Definition and Usage

The <fieldset> tag is used to group related elements in a form. The <fieldset> tag draws a box around the related elements. The HTML <fieldset> element is used to group several controls as well as labels (<label>) within a web form. The HTML <fieldset> tag is used for grouping related form elements. By using the fieldset tag and the legend tag, you can make your forms much easier to understand for your users. The fieldset is a useful tool for organizing and grouping related items within a form, and has been used for a long time in desktop applications. When it’s combined with the legend (which is contained inside the fieldset, and is a required element if you use the fieldset), it has the effect of creating a box around the grouped items and showing a description to the right of each item
